About this place
Tucked into Minami-Ikebukuro, Jugar cafe accommodates visits at any pace, shifting from hearty cafe lunches to an evening bar. One of the signature dishes is loco moco, built around a satisfying 100% beef patty. Diners can select between plain white rice or sixteen-grain rice, adjust portion sizes, and add toppings such as fried eggs, cheese, or avocado to tailor the plate.
Lunch sets include a salad alongside free refills on soup and drinks. Midday options range widely: the signature Jugar curry, a rich black curry simmered for 6 hours; taco rice; customizable pita sandwiches; and daily stir-fry specials. For dessert, a warm fondant au chocolat with a molten center or an apple tart offers a comfortable pause after the meal.
After sundown, the space leans into its darts-bar side, pairing beers, highballs, and cocktails with bar snacks like tacos, nachos, and Mexican-style pizza. In addition to the counter and tables on the 1th floor, the 2th floor offers relaxed sofa seating. With service extending until 5:00 the following morning, it serves as a reliable retreat for late drinks and late-night dining.
